Marmalade

Marmalade is so pathetic :(

We picked her out on Monday from the ISO room at the shelter and she came home Tuesday. She was sick and pregnant. They performed a spay abort as there's no way she'd be able to handle kittens. She has an upper respiratory infection and was not interested in food because she couldn't smell it. We cleaned her nose and gave a steam treatment, but it didn't work so we had to force feed her. She's sooooo thin and hungry. She runs over to the food excited to eat, but everytime decides it's not food and looks disappointed. Yesterday, she started eating again, but it's inconsistent. We're using especially smelly foods like tuna and turkey baby food. She's also really dirty, but cannot be bathed due to the spay incision (not that I want to bathe a cat anyway). We've been brushing her and wiping her with a damp washcloth and that seems to help. Poor sweetie! She's so full of love too- always purring!
